Metlakatla Ferry Service

Metlakatla provides ferry services between Prince Rupert and Metlakatla. The Metlakatla vessels leave Prince Rupert from the Metlakatla ferry dock located in Cow Bay (directly below the Crest Hotel). Travel time varies between 15-30 minutes. The one way fare for children aged 5 and under is $3.00, persons aged 6-59 is $6.00 and seniors (60 years and over) is $3.00.

Leaves Prince Rupert (Monday - Friday) 7:30 a.m.
Leaves Metlakatla (Monday - Friday) 7:50 a.m.**
Leaves Prince Rupert (Monday – Friday) 8:15 a.m.
Leaves Metlakatla (Monday – Friday) 8:35 a.m.
Leaves Prince Rupert (Monday & Wednesday) 11:30 a.m.
Leaves Metlakatla (Monday & Wednesday) 12:00 p.m.
Leaves Prince Rupert (Friday) 12:15 p.m.
Leaves Metlakatla (Friday) 12:45 p.m.
Leaves Prince Rupert (Monday - Friday) 3:30 p.m.**

Leaves Metlakatla (Monday-Thursday) 4:45 p.m.
Friday afternoon runs are in conjunction with the North Co-Corp schedule.

**School run - Ferry Supervisor & school children ONLY. Persons (other than Ferry Supervisor & students) must have written permission from School District 52 to travel on these runs.

SATURDAY TRIAL RUNS
Leave Metlakatla at 9:00 a.m. and return from Prince Rupert at 4:00 p.m. Regular fares are in place (see above). The December Saturday runs will take place on December 3 & 17. These will not be automatic runs - there must be a minimum of 5 people planning to travel on these days for the ferry to run. Call the Metlakatla Development Corporation at (250) 628-3201 to add your name to the list. Names will be taken until 12:15 p.m. on December 2 & December 16. MDC will announce whether there are enough people for the ferry to run. For the 4:00 p.m. run, priority will be given first to those who were on the 9:00 a.m. ferry to Prince Rupert.
