North Co-Corp
North Co-Corp is a ferry owned by three communities: Hartley Bay, Kitkatla and Metlakatla. The ferry services Hartley Bay, Kitkatla, Metlakatla and Oona River. The North Co-Corp Board of Directors consists of a representative from each of the three communities.
Fares and departure times are listed below. Runs leaving Prince Rupert are on a first-come, first-serve basis – reservations cannot be made at this time. The travel times listed are approximate only (weather is always a factor), the ferry arrives in the community unloads passengers and loads new passengers returning immediately to Prince Rupert. Listed below are the ferry schedules on a monthly basis. To make reservations for travel from Kitkatla to Prince Rupert, please call (250)848-2236. The service from Metlakatla to Prince Rupert runs in conjunction with the other two communities. On Fridays, if it is a Kitkatla run, the ferry leaves Metlakatla at 4:30 p.m. If the Friday run is from Hartley Bay, it leaves Metlakatla at 5:30 p.m. The service on Sunday is also in conjunction with the other communities: if it is a Kitkatla run, it leaves Metlakatla at 4:00 p.m. and Hartley Bay 5:30 p.m.
FREIGHT – forty pounds of freight is permitted free of charge. Weight in excess of forty pounds results of a fee of fifteen cents per pound. Unaccompanied freight is twenty-five cents per pound.
