Metlakatla members: Please join us in celebrating the re-opening of the Metlakatla Wilderness Trail on Thursday, March 25. For members, there will be a charter leaving the Prince Rupert dock at 10:30 a.m. for a community event starting at 11:30 a.m. A charter will be returning at 2:15 p.m. in addition to the regular return trips to Prince Rupert at 3:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The charter will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Summer Student Program 2023- It's that time again- time to get some work experience and make some money!!

The Summer Student Program will now be accepting names for students wanting to work this summer. Students must be on the band list, in grades 9-12 and attending school on a regular full-time basis.

Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, the Sm'algyax class scheduled for the evening of March 2, 2023 has been cancelled. Thank you for your understanding. 

All Metlakatla Members are invited to join the Metlakatla Governing Council on the afternoon of Monday, February 27 to receive information on a Specific Claims Settlement related to past misappropriation of lands. The meeting will be held virtually using the Zoom platform.

Please note that the Metlakatla Band Office and Departments will closed on Friday November 11th, 2022.

The Metlakatla Governing Council and Metlakatla Development Corporation have together approved a $1,000 per member distribution, regardless of age, to assist members during the holiday season. Given the importance of collecting data on the health and mental and economic well-being of our members, we are asking all adults over the age of 18 to complete the Metlakatla Census included in this application to be eligible for the distribution.
