METLAKATLA BC - The Metlakatla First Nation is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for a fire in the Metlakatla Ferry Dock parking lot in the early morning hours of February 25.
The fire, which was reported to the Prince Rupert Fire Department at approximately 3 a.m. on Thursday morning, resulted in significant damage to vehicles belonging to Metlakatla members. Two vans, including one belonging to Metlakatla elders, were completely burned while another pickup truck suffered substantial heat damage to the driver’s side.
The Metlakatla First Nation takes this and other acts of vandalism around the Metlakata Ferry Dock very seriously. Anyone with information about this fire is asked to contact the Prince Rupert RCMP at 250-627-0700 or Crimestoppers toll free at 1-800-222-8477.
