The Metlakatla First Nation is currently seeking two Metlakatla members to serve on the Metlakatla Education Committee.
Committee members must have a demonstrated knowledge of post-secondary education (previous student, education staff, previous experience in Education committee). The term of the appointment, made through Metlakatla Governing Council, will be five years. Committee members are expected to:
-Maintain confidentiality;
-Support and, whenever necessary, clarify or explain MEC’s positions on any funding issues approved by the committee;
-Work harmoniously and respectfully with other committee members regardless of differences of opinion, encourage productive dialogue and share information in open discussions;
-Make all final decisions through consensus of a quorum of no less than three (3) committee members (All committee members must agree on consensus)
-Monitor the post-secondary financial records
-Monitor OST financial records at the time of Policy Review
